About Us

Ecofact Environmental Consultants Ltd. is Ireland’s leading independent provider of ecology surveys and environmental management services. The company was established in 1999 by Dr. William O’Connor, a senior environmental scientist who had previously worked for the Irish Electricity Supply Board (ESB). ECOFACT offers extensive services relating to terrestrial, marine and freshwater environments. We can manage the environmental aspects of a project from its inception through to construction and ongoing operational environmental management.

We have significant project management experience in the following areas:

We have expertise in the fields of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS), Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Article 6 Appropriate Assessment (AA), Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). We have the qualifications and experience to provide accurate baseline environmental information and impact assessments for projects and developments including road and pipeline infrastructure, waste water treatment, river management, wind energy, hydroelectric schemes, housing developments, aquaculture and quarries. We also provide a wide range of survey and monitoring services in relation to the natural environment.

ECOFACT employs permanent full time senior environmental consultancy staff, field ecologists and temporary seasonal staff. All permanent senior environmental scientists are chartered members of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM), the Society of Biology (SOB) and the Institute of Fisheries Management (IFM).
