Onshore Wind Energy Projects

We are currently working on a number of large onshore wind energy developments for clients such as Galetech Energy Developments, Bord Gais Energy, ESB, Saorgus Energy, and RES.

Current wind farm projects we are undertaking include wintering bird surveys, Hen Harrier and general breeding bird surveys at several large proposed wind farm sites.

  • We also recently prepared the Natura Impact Statements for proposed wind energy projects in Counties Monaghan, Tyrone, Galway, Roscommon, Mayo and County Offaly.
  • The former project included a regional study of Whooper Swan and Greenland White-fronted geese activity. We are also commencing a number of projects in Northern Ireland.

ECOFACT have been involved in the environmental impact assessment of a wide variety of renewable and sustainable energy projects.

As this industry continues to grow in Ireland we have been responsible for undertaking Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and also Article 6 Appropriate Assessments for sites located within designated Natura 2000 conservation sites.
