Terrestrial Invertebrates

ECOFACT undertake a range of terrestrial macroinvertebrate surveys, both as part of general ecological investigations and also for specific protected and rare species.

Marine Ecology

Marine ecology assessment is one of the principle services offered by Ecofact. The island coastline of the Island of Ireland and its marine habitats provide important commercial, amenity and biodiversity functions. Many coastal areas are now designated within the Natura 2000 network of European protection sites (SACs & SPAs); these may include estuarine, intertidal, subtidal and offshore habitats listed on Annex I of the EU Habitats Directive (1992).

Freshwater Ecology

Ecofact has extensive, specialist experience in conducting a wide range of ecological field assessments in relation to the freshwater environment and we are experts in the provision of fisheries and aquatic ecology assessments. Across the range of our freshwater services we have demonstrable scientific and professional experience in the completion of studies ranging from one-off biological water quality assessments to protected species surveys, ongoing water quality monitoring and fisheries and freshwater habitat management.
