Bird surveys: The following photos are from ECOFACT bird surveys in Ireland during the period April to July of 2013. All photos were taken by our ornithologists during the course of assessments being completed as part of EcIAs of AAs for proposed wind energy developments in the Irish Midlands.

Over the past few months ECOFACT’s professional ornithologists have beein undertaking a number of expert breeding bird surveys at proposed wind farm sites throughout the Island of Ireland. We are the leading independent provider of bird surveys and Ornithological Impact Assessments (OIA) in Ireland. We have extensive experience of Impact Assessment for bird populations and their habitats. Moreover, we are leading company providing services in relation to the design and implementation of a wide range of mitigation measures for avifauna. We also provide Collision Risk Modelling (CRM) for wind energy developments.

One of the main species we are currently surveying for is hen harrier. The gallery below shows some images from the 2013 bird surveys we have completed.
