Water Services Projects
ECOFACT have been responsible for the completion of Receiving Water Impact Assessments (RWIA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Appropriate Assessments, and water quality and hydrological modelling studies to contribute to Water Services projects being undertaken by local authorities and private developments.
These projects have included waste water treatment plant schemes and licensed discharges for surface waters including waterbodies designated as Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) for sensitive aquatic species such as the Freshwater Pearl Mussel and Atlantic salmon.
Water services offered by ECOFACT include provision of environmental consultancy and management services in relation to activities which are regulated by the:
- European Communities Environmental Objectives (Surface Waters) Regulations 2009;
- Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC);
- Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC);
- Dangerous Substances Directive (2006/11/EC).
These services include assessments of both abstractions and discharges in rivers, lakes, transitional waters, estuaries and marine areas.
Key Water Services projects recently undertaken by ECOFACT include both Waste Water Projects, and Water Supply Projects.
