ECOFACT Environmental Consultants has extensive experience in the assessment and management of water resources. We provide specialist environmental services for Water Supply Schemes.

We have worked on almost all of the major water supply schemes in Ireland progressed over the past 10 years. Our expertise includes hydrology, fisheries, protected aquatic and semi-aquatic species, ecological impact assessment and appropriate assessment.

  • Our range of technical services to water industry include fisheries impact assessments, hydrology modelling, WFD Risk Assessments, and fish pass design.
  • We have a reputation for excellence in fisheries and aquatic ecological consultancy, and we can ensure that you have the required expert fisheries input into the design, construction and operation of water supply schemes.
  • Other services we provide to the hydropower industry include mammal surveys (including bat surveys), habitat mapping assessments and botanical surveys, protected aquatic species assessments and bird surveys.

Water services offered by ECOFACT include provision of environmental consultancy and management services in relation to activities which are regulated by the European Communities Environmental Objectives (Surface Waters) Regulations 2009 (S.I. No. 272 2009), the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) and the Dangerous Substances Directive (2006/11/EC).
